Chair's Annual Report as presented to the Annual Parish Meeting on 14th May 2026
Humshaugh is a rural Parish, situated on the River North Tyne, six miles from Hexham. The hamlets of Chollerford, Haughton, Lincoln Hill and Walwick are part of the Parish. It has a population of 622 (data from the 2011 National Census) with a good mix of ages between young families and retired people. Amenities include an award-winning Village Shop, a Village Hall, First School, Church, Doctors’ Surgery, Cricket Club, a pub, hotel and B&Bs. Humshaugh is a popular destination for tourists visiting Hadrian’s Wall and Chesters Fort with its Roman Bath House and Museum.
